Women in transport

Women make up 47 per cent of the UK workforce yet remain underrepresented in the transport sector accounting for only 20 per cent of workers. At HCT Group, we want to play our part in empowering women to have successful careers in the transport industry. We do this by creating a positive, supportive environment for all our employees – and female colleagues in particular. Meet some of our champions for women in transport.

Pamela Mooroogan is a Community Transport Manager at HCT Group and has been with the organisation for 15 years.

She was the first female to become a manager in the Community Transport Unit (CTU) at the Hackney depot and has seen significant progress over her years with the company. Two of the main reasons Pamela has stayed at HCT Group for over a decade is because of the people she works with and the impact CTU has with its members.

“I have a wonderful team who are really supportive and have had some great managers over the years, but it’s really about the services we provide for the community and the drivers who are out there making a real difference to people’s lives.”
