Bristol Community Transport (BCT) is the largest community transport operator in Bristol (in terms of both size of fleet and number of passengers carried). From our depot in Parson Street, Bedminster we operate a fleet of 48 vehicles that are used by over 800 not-for-profit organisations in and around Bristol, as well as by the users of our many other services.
The BCT fleet of minibuses provides accessible transport for a network of independent organisations, each of them meeting the needs of their respective members and thus increasing social access.
Membership of BCT is free for not-for-profit organisations in and around Bristol. Membership entitles groups to use BCT vehicles, as well as receive a discount on minibus driver training. Vehicle charges vary depending on vehicle capacity, period of use and distance travelled. Information on our charging structure and how to apply for membership is available here.
BCT strives to meet the transport needs of community groups in and around Bristol. Vehicles in our fleet range from 6 seater to 16 seater, the majority of the vehicles have been adapted to carry wheelchair passengers (larger vehicles may be available from our colleagues at CT Plus).
To help our members make best use of our vehicles, BCT provides minibus driver training to the national ‘MiDAS’ standard.
We also provide a range of community buses, helping older and disabled people in Bristol to get out and about, and Bristol Car Club, which provides accessible cars for wheelchair users. BCT has also expanded its range of services to include SEN school transport and day centre transport.
BCT is part of the HCT Group, one of the UK’s leading social enterprises and was the first organisation in Bristol to be awarded the Social Enterprise Mark.
