The smarter way to travel

The Ormer card allows Guernsey residents to access discounted fares and buy cheap bus journeys in advance. Residents can get their Ormer card in three easy steps:

Step 1: get your Ormer card

Guernsey residents can purchase Ormer cards from the Bus Information Kiosk at the St Peter Port bus terminus. The cards cost £1 and you’ll need to bring proof of residency such as a social security card, driving licence or a recent utility bill.

Step 2: top up your card with journeys

You can choose between:

  • five-journey top up for £5 - £1 per journey
  • ten-journey top up for £10 - £1 per journey
  • twenty-journey top up for £17 - 85p per journey
  • fifty-journey top up for £30 – just 60p per journey

Top ups are available at the kiosk or on the buses from the driver.

Step 3: away you go!

Simply touch your Ormer card onto the reader next to the driver, who will then give you a ticket. The ticket displays the number of journeys you have on your card so you can top up when it’s running low. If you are simply using your Ormer card to claim a residents’ discount, show the driver your card and pay £1.

If you still have questions about Ormer cards, please feel free to speak to our friendly staff at at the Bus Information Kiosk at the St. Peter Port bus terminus - they will be happy to show you how it works.
